2018 Garden Feast
Art Direction, Identity, Print, DesignSan Francisco Botanical Garden’s Garden Feast, is an annual festive fundraising luncheon to support the Garden and its innovative programming. The 2018 event featured a keynote address by
beloved Bay Area chef, author, food activist, and founder of Chez Panisse Restaurant in
Berkeley, Alice Waters.
This project has become an annual collaboration with photographer, Andria Lo. The image making process is an exhilirating marathon of massive plant foraging and knolling that all takes place over the course of a single day, starting on the Garden grounds with an authorized horticulturalist to assist in the clippings, then safely transporting our garden babies to the studio to delicately catalog and arrange our living plantscapes (before they perish). The outcome is a full event suite, complete with invitation, program, signage — plus tablesettings, plating and even attendee looks inspired by the creative.
